Robin is with Kelvin Galbraith, our Ward 1 Councillor. They’ve had a number of groups helping out with food security in Burlington. There was a group of volunteers working out of St Matthews Church collecting food in a contactless drive through that was one of the first of its kind starting just after Covid-19 was declared a pandemic and it ran right through the Fall leading up to Christmas when they recognized that they could take a break as residents were giving in other ways – Connie Price and Jim Young organized a food collection every Monday and Wednesday which Kelvin helped promote through his newsletter and social media. The Compassion Society assists families with a number of services and Next Door Social Space during non-Covid times provide free lunch a couple of times each week and assist other meal programs as they are able to during the pandemic. There’s an amazing community in Aldershot and the rest of Ward 1 that have stepped up throughout these difficult times to help the Food Bank and other services that need their support.

If you are in need or know of someone who could use our help PLEASE have them email us at info@burlingtonfoodbank.ca or call 905-637-2273 to make arrangements to have food dropped at their door or make arrangements to pick it up through our curb-side pickup option. If you are a resident in Burlington, we are all here to help. Don’t struggle – give us a call.
