Robin is at Backed by Bees in north Burlington today along with Dave Stotesbury & Vincent Sowa and Mayor Marianne Meed Ward. Products like honey are not usually donated to the food bank however families love receiving it when it’s available so the wonderful folks at Backed By Bees are proud to offer raw honey for donation at a reduced cost specifically cared for and harvested for The Burlington Food Bank.

They are running a promotion called Give the Gift of Sweetness. (https://backedbybees.com/products/gift-of-sweetness) As we do not receive any government funding, we really appreciate when people come forward to partner with us on events or promotions like this. Mayor Marianne Meed-Ward thanked Backed by Bees for their innovation and creativity and for helping our community out…

How it works:

  1. Purchase a jar of raw honey to donate to The Burlington Food Bank for just $5 to help feed local families in need.
  2. Following your purchase, honey frames from designated hives will be set aside from our 2021 harvest (September) for The Burlington Food Bank.
  3. We will care for these hives until the honey is ready to be harvested and delivered to The Burlington Food Bank.

Not only will you be feeding Burlington but also helping to increase the local pollination of Burlington’s food supply!
