Over a year into this pandemic now and we were all hoping we’d be in a safer place right now. Will our clients ever be able to come to the food bank, walk in and shop for their needs? That’s how they used to get their support. It gave us an opportunity to see and to talk to them each month they came in and they were able to just select exactly what they wanted. We try our best to accommodate customized orders over the phone now. In order to get back to that support model we need to get our covid numbers in the City and Province down. The only way we know of to accomplish this is for everyone, who is comfortable with it, to get vaccinated and to follow all of the simple safety protocols (distance, wash hands, sanitize, family-only, wear a mask). Everyone at each level of government is trying hard to get the important information to us and our City of Burlington has everything you need for links to info on their website https://www.burlington.ca/ We are doing everything we can to make sure we are getting food out to the people that need it in a safe and healthy way.

Mayor Marianne Meed Ward

“As much as we were all hoping to be in a better place than we are now, a year into this pandemic, we’re still not out of the woods and our situation is worsening, with significant increases in new infections and hospitalizations. We understand the need for additional measures to slow the spread of the virus. I also know residents are exhausted and anxious, and additional restrictions mean more sacrifices, when our community has given so much already for so long. We’ve all got to hang in and continue to do everything we can to stop this virus. Please continue to follow all health measures, not just for yourself and loved ones, but for our whole community.”
