This week we received a donation that also included a note from the donor.

“A neighbour put up one of the lit-up polar bears on their front lawn for Christmas. Every day the bear was in a different spot – lawn, roof, climbing a tree, driving their jeep, ziplining, etc. They delighted the whole neighbourhood with the bear’s antics. For New Years eve, the bear became a crystal ball and at 7pm so that all the children could watch, he dropped from about 30 ft high onto a platform that said 2021. We thought we would pay this friendliness forward and so we are making this donation to the Food Bank. Hopefully it will bless others as the polar bear blessed us.”

We appreciate the donation and also love hearing these stories about Burlington neighbours being so kind to each other and being creative for the kids trying to brighten each others days – especially during the pandemic. It’s important that we look out for one another right now and try to brighten someone else’s day!
