Robin is with Christina Mulder, the Director of Programs and Partnerships for Open Doors at St Christopher’s on Guelph Line. They have been a long time partner of the Burlington Food Bank and responded very quickly when Covid-19 hit by temporarily closing their Food Bank and supporting our operations in March 2020. Since then they have been able to partially open up and provide a warm meal pick-up drive-thru or curbside pickup every Tuesday between 2:30 and 5:30 pm, along with the meal they also offer produce bags and milk/eggs as needed.

They have also been able to provide winter clothing such as hats, boots, coats, mitts and they soon plan to open their clothing options to provide all types. Open Doors along with their other programs, provides activity kits as part of a respite program providing help for children with special needs and their siblings. There is a parenting group that meets every Tuesday night at 7pm for an hour and a half, with guest speakers providing a great place for parents to get through Covid concerns.

This past Saturday was their Coldest Night of the Year fundraiser which is an annual event and Open Door’s main fundraising initiative – donations are still being accepted through this event. They are just 15% away from reaching their goal so if you are able to give please reach out at https://cnoy.org/location/burlington
