Through your contributions, one of the greatest improvements made at the Burlington Food Bank this past year is the increase in fresh produce that each household receives with their delivery.  With your support we have been able to almost double the amount of fresh produce that is offered to those that use our Food Bank.

The produce that is distributed throughout the winter is purchased directly from wholesalers and thus allows your support to have an even greater impact.  As we all know, fresh is better, and that is one of the reasons we are excited for spring as it allows for local, fresher, and more nutritious produce to be available for our Burlington neighbours that we serve.  Not only are we able to purchase locally but the Burlington Food Bank tends 7 garden plots at the Maple Community Gardens and all the crops are shared directly with our deliveries each day!

Last year, a group of Burlington gardeners began the Grow A Row campaign.

Aimed at local gardeners, Grow A Row gives you the option to share from the abundance of food that you have grown, or dedicate a row in your garden to donate to the Food Bank.  Your donation can be herbs, fruits or vegetables and you can drop it off at our location.  If you or you and your neighbours have a large donation, we can always make arrangements to have it picked up.
