Thank you to everyone that came out to the Burlington Centre Saturday to support the Gift of Giving Back. The rain cut it short a little but they still managed to collect 3,500+ lbs of donations. A special thank you to our own Food Bank volunteers who gave up their time that day to help out. They tell us its not giving up anything – that they enjoy being involved in such a rewarding experience. Thanks to Jean Longfield, Rick Dale and their team at the GOGB for allowing us to be one of the recipients along with Compassion Society, Food for Life, Salvation Army, Halton Women’s Place and Carpenter Hospice. We all appreciate everything the GOGB does for our community.

Founded in 2005, The Gift of Giving Back is an opportunity to inspire, support, educate and empower our youth through local minor athletics associations and school systems, to compassionately give back to our community. In fulfilling their mission as a registered charity, they aim to demonstrate the lasting, positive impact we can all have through the power of giving back. Its a Canadian success story!

If you are in need or know of someone who could use our help, PLEASE have them email us at info@burlingtonfoodbank.ca or call 905-637-2273 to make arrangements to have food dropped at their door or make arrangements to pick it up through our curb-side pickup option. If you are a resident in Burlington, we are all here to help. Don’t struggle – give us a call.
