We wanted to send an update on our regular communications with partners Feed Ontario and Food Banks Canada as we are the members representing Burlington. Food Banks Canada offered tips and help with why we are trying to gather some additional information from our clients and how that affects the government of Canada and how they support us. We try not to ask too many invasive questions and limit that as much as we can. Some of the questions are for trying to help some of our marginalized communities in the City and across the country, so that they can get support. Same thing with Feed Ontario through the Advocacy Committee, we want to help some of our communities that may have been hit harder with covid. Specifically we have reached out to the Ontario Government to think about paid sick days and to address the ongoing rent hikes to help lower-income families and wage-earners.

If you are in need or know of someone who could use our help PLEASE have them email us at info@burlingtonfoodbank.ca or call 905-637-2273 to make arrangements to have food dropped at their door or make arrangements to pick it up through our curb-side pickup option. If you are a resident in Burlington, we are all here to help. Don’t struggle – give us a call
