We noticed a few recent food recalls this week and wanted to remind you that we regularly get advance notices about any food recalls directly from Health Canada. They let us know whatā€™s going on and we then look at the food safety recall warnings and make sure to pull out any related product. The more recent threat was regarding apricot kernels ā€“ which we do not have. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Health Canada are warning shoppers about multiple apricot products that may cause cyanide poisoning. There have been multipleĀ “food recall warning” recallsĀ issued by the CFIA over the past two days. One of the recalls involvesĀ certain apricot kernel products that are being pulled from the marketplaceĀ due to the natural toxin amygdalin. We wanted you to know that we are aware ā€“ you can read more here at the Burlington post

How it works:

  1. Purchase a jar of raw honey to donate to The Burlington Food Bank for just $5 to help feed local families in need.
  2. Following your purchase, honey frames from designated hives will be set aside from our 2021 harvest for The Burlington Food Bank.
  3. We will care for these hives until the honey is ready to be harvested and delivered to The Burlington Food Bank.
