Jasmin is a Burlington Central grade 7 student. While everyone was inside during the shut-down, she began painting rocks to brighten up the neighbourhood, then after talking with her friends, she decided to get to work on building and painting birdhouses and selling them to the community with all proceeds going to the Burlington Food Bank. Her mom (Melissa) and her dad helped her plan out the initiative. Jasmin ended up selling 42 birdhouses and today presented us with a cheque for $840 which we will use to purchase healthy produce for the families in Burlington that need some help right now. We just want to thank Jasmin for choosing to help put food on the table for people in our community. Its people like Jasmin that make us so proud and encouraged that the future has some great leaders living amongst us.
