Last Thursday was our busiest day ever – a new record for us at 49 deliveries in the one day. We are thankful that more families in Burlington are reaching out as they need help and that we have an amazing team of volunteers and staff that are managing to get the orders filled out. One of our donors this week added a note to their donation and asked us to make sure we used a portion of their donation to purchase sweet (fun) cereals and/or treats for kids. They were a food bank user as a family when they were young and they always received healthy (not-so-fun) cereal from their food bank. Although they appreciated the support they always hoped for one of the more sweet cereals to arrive in their food hamper. We will do just that although we do love giving healthy nutritious food; a treat every now and then can brighten a day for people!

Next week is Christmas week so we will be closing at noon on Thursday and giving our staff and volunteers the week off through to January 4th. Since we will not be open on Thursday Dec 24 we will instead be open late on Tuesday for evening deliveries. Make sure you contact us by Monday in order to receive a Tuesday evening delivery or curbside pick-up.

If you are in need or know of someone who could use our help PLEASE have them email us at info@burlingtonfoodbank.ca or call 905-637-2273 to make arrangements to have food dropped at their door or make arrangements to pick it up through our curb-side pickup option. If you live in Burlington, we are here to help. Don’t struggle – give us a call.
