We want to thank a donor, Susanne that dropped by yesterday with quite a number of reusable bags that she has been making, she has promised to be back with more and we are sure our clients will greatly appreciate them.  We also wanted to highlight the struggle that a number of people in Burlington face that rely on Ontario Works and Ontario Disability Support Program as their sources of income.  The rates for these support programs have not seen any significant increase since the 1990’s and would be close to 50% more than what they currently are if they had just kept up with inflation.  We are happy that the produce and other perishable food we offer gives these neighbours a little healthier diet than they would be able to have if they had to stick with only more “affordable” processed foods.

If you are in need or know of someone who could use our help PLEASE have them email us at info@burlingtonfoodbank.ca or call 905-637-2273 to make arrangements to have food dropped at their door or make arrangements to pick it up through our curb-side pickup option. If you live in Burlington, we are here to help. Don’t struggle – give us a call.
