Robin is with Angelo Bentivegna, our Ward 6 Councillor. In Ward 6 we are very fortunate, we have Fire station 7 who have been involved with collecting food donations for over 17 years. We are also lucky to have Andrea Florian and her Realty team doing porch pick-ups every Friday. From a Food Security point of view, Angelo feels the pandemic has brought out the best in our Food Charities, working together to help families through each other’s initiatives. He mentions Burlington Food Bank, Salvation Army, Compassion Society, Food for Life and the Gift of Giving Back.

Angelo has also helped out trying to promote the recent Share the Love city-wide food drive running to Saturday. In the last few weeks, someone got in touch with Angelo personally and said “I need your help. I don’t know where to turn, there are people living in their vehicle and they need help.” Angelo was quickly able to reach out to agencies like us in the City and get them the help they needed. If anyone doesn’t know Mr. Bentivegna, he is all heart and we’re lucky to have him as one of our City Councillors.
