Robin is with Rory Nissan Burlington City Councillor for Ward 3. Rory grew up in Brant Hills in Burlington and has been active in the community, co-creating and chairing the One Burlington Festival in 2017 and 2018, and connecting Burlington to the world through the Mundialization Committee. Rory’s local efforts were acknowledged with a Burlington150 Award in 2017, and a nomination for the Burlington Best Community Service Award the same year. The needs of constituents in Ward 3 are growing right now and he is thankful for organizations like the Burlington Food Bank that are assisting any Burlington resident that needs a little bit of assistance. Last week’s One Burlington Share the Love event was a huge success and Ward 3 played a big part with donations through Fresh Co and other drop-off locations including the Fire Hall on Upper Middle Rd. Councillor Nisan has supported the Ride to Provide fundraiser in 2019 and volunteers his time with various agencies focused on food security.

Rory had helped organize the vigil here in Burlington for the horrific Quebec City Mosque shooting that hit all Canadians hard. On Jan. 30th 2017 at Burlington City Hall, there was a vigil with approximately 300 people in attendance. The love, compassion, support and sharing in one another’s grief found at the event was overwhelming. Rory is always there to support our community food drives.
