The Food Bank would like to celebrate Local Food Week and also thank Farmer Jack’s here in Burlington for their donation of Ontario-grown LIVE LETTUCE. What a unique concept! The lettuce is packaged with small containers of soil to allow continuous growth. Our own Community garden is continuing to do a great job and good things are growing there thanks to Lisa Dubik and her volunteer gardeners.

We have a few farmers who help us out each year and would love to see more support for FRESH produce during the summer if they are able to. Please get out this weekend and support our struggling local restaurants – they need our help like never before. These restaurants helped us out when their doors were shut and we are all crossing our fingers that restrictions loosen up for them as soon as possible. Order take-out tonight, and if you are not in a position to do that, please let us help you with your groceries
