Garden Coordinator Samantha LeGrand thanks all her volunteers and then shows us what’s growing in the Burlington Food Bank plots. Wasn’t too long ago we were preparing for seedlings planting and going over Sam’s plan of action. Look at the bounty today! Bed 1 has salads, all kinds of lettuce, bed two has peppers, kale, celery and basil. Bed three is full of tomatoes and potatoes. Bed 4 has zucchinis, peppers and bed 5 has sugar peas and sunflower. Bed 6 is full of garlic and will be harvested any day now. Bed 7 has a variety of produce including kale and carrot flower. What an amazing job she did for us all! Thanks Sam. Please contact Sam at garden@burlingtonfoodbank.ca if you are interested in helping out over the summer.
