Welcome to Karen Roche – the new Fire Chief in Burlington – we are excited to hear about the new appointment and glad to hear that you will be serving further in our City. The Fire Department just dropped off a number of battery-operated smoke detectors for us to distribute to some of our clients. Battery-operated and not the hard-wired type. How thoughtful of them to do this and especially now as many families will be putting up their Christmas trees.

“Karen stepped in as interim-chief while our city continues to face a global pandemic as an integral member to our emergency response team. We look forward to her continued contribution to the City of Burlington and the Burlington Fire Department. Her years of fire services experience will continue to prove valuable to the city and our ongoing commitment to public safety,” said Mayor Marianne Meed Ward.
