Burlington Food Bank Announces Plans to Open a Food Distribution Centre

Today the Burlington Food Bank announced the incredible news that we will be opening a brand new distribution centre in October 2023 at 5280 Mainway Unit 5, Burlington. This initiative will be an exciting opportunity for the Burlington Food Bank to help strengthen and build a more cohesive food security network within the Region of Halton.

FirstOntario employees are also gearing up to provide an extra ‘Blue Wave’ of volunteer support to help many of these organizations through the holidays.

This year’s report also includes a feature that explores why it is harder to escape poverty today than it was 30 years ago and how public policy decisions and insufficient investments in our social safety net have resulted in deepening cracks in our economic foundation.
