Thought we’d share a story of what just happened to one of our volunteers. At No Frills picking up some school lunch items and some on sale chicken nuggets – at the cash just before closing and the bill is $51. For some reason her card wasn’t going through and she said to the cashier to hold the order and she would check for cash in the car. When she came back with only $20 (on the way was thinking what she would have to put back), the cashier said that the lady behind her covered the bill and handed her the receipt. She was literally on the receiving end of one of those UpWorthy stories you hear about and was so happy to know this is the community we have, always ready to help. There’s so much to take from this brief yet impactful moment.  Reality is, for many of our neighbours this act of kindness could have meant the difference between children having a school lunch or not.
