Looks to be another busy week for us as people are needing our assistance more and more, however we are lucky to have such great community support to keep us on top of it all. The donations allow us to handle the deliveries without any structural issues. One of the big supporters for us is Feed Ontario and today Robin will be involved in their advocacy committee meeting. Food banks try to have a voice and impact with the Ontario government and try to determine how we can support families better – especially those that are on social assistance – they really can’t survive on what they’re given right now. 60% of our clients are women and this breakdown of clients is consistent across the province, it is important that supports are in place to assist particularly single mothers (and fathers) and others that struggle with low incomes and child care.

If you are in need or know of someone who could use our help PLEASE have them email us at info@burlingtonfoodbank.ca or call 905-637-2273 to make arrangements to have food dropped at their door or make arrangements to pick it up through our curb-side pickup option. If you live in Burlington, we are here to help. Don’t struggle – give us a call.
